June 2 - Lisa's Musings (on Borders Storytime) and Every Day Life
This morning, I got to be a kid again.
I attended storytime at Borders on Lohr Road today. It was beach day and I listened as a terrific storyteller David Schwimmer of Saline read to a bunch of 3-5 year olds.
And it was great, great fun. For an hour, I lost myself in stories about sea creatures and ladybug girls at the beach and sand castles and pails and shovels. Did I mention pout-pout fish?
Schwimmer did such a great job that I almost forgot to take photos. And do video.
Almost.
It reminded me of when I was a little kid and my mom read all sorts of stories to me. Good stories that had animals in them. Like mice and birds and skunks and horses and ponies.
I hated dolls as a kid. Still do. So all my playmates were of the fake fur variety and I dressed them up just as beautifully as any old Barbie or baby doll. And they kept me company when my mom read to me.
So this morning was like being 3 years old again.
But it's afternoon now, so I guess I better return to adulthood and write the story, edit the photos. And video.
So, if you'd like 2 minutes of returning to your childhood, check out my video.
You'll be glad you did.
